How To: Wear Striped Shorts | Men's Summer Fashion

The concept of time feels extra strange this year and it almost feels unreal that September is beginning. Though the end of summer is quickly approaching, temperatures are still high and shorts aren't going away just yet. Striped shorts have been my favorite summer piece the past few years and here are my tips for wearing and styling them:

Comfort is Key:

Consider ditching the denim for something much more breathable and lightweight. I gravitate towards linen shorts for their comfort and they offer more interesting patterns and color options.

Menswear Inspired:

There's something about a vertical stripe that seems like a nod to traditional menswear pinstripe suit. While it's obviously too hot in the summer to wear a suit, it's a fun way to add a menswear-inspired feel to your look with striped shorts. Not to take away from the casualness of your look, but this pattern gives you a menswear feel that you can dress up or down.

Let Them Standout:

You can have fun with the colors and boldness of your striped shorts, so let them stand out. Keep your top simple with either a black or white sleeveless shirt, like my favorite go-to one here.
