How To Wear a Bold Topcoat | Men's Fashion Guide

 

For those days when you want to make a statement, but not be the center of attention, may I suggest the bold topcoat? This is one of my favorite winter looks to put together. Here's how to wear it well:

• 1 Bold Aspect - If you're experimenting with this style for the first time pick a coat with either a bold color or a bold pattern (but not both.)
• Keep Your Outfit Subtle - The rest of your look should be monochromatic, patternless and not detract from the coat at all. Let the coat do all the talking. 
• Sleek Shoes - Whether you're going with a pair of Chelsea boots or sneakers, make sure they're sharp and simple. You can never go wrong with a pair of Common Projects. 
• Layer Smart - It's winter, after all, and my secret weapon is Uniqlo heattech shirts. This turtleneck is one of my favorite winter staple pieces to stay warm without the bulk.
