How To: 1800s Inspired Outfit

 

To celebrate the launch of TNT's The Alienist, a show taking place in the late 1800s, I wanted to challenge myself to dress in a similar style. How to create a 1800s menswear-inspired outfit? I was able to build around this old school style with everything I already have in my wardrobe. I started with this Goorin Bros hat and built around it with a military-esque Tallia Orange coat. I styled this outfit based on the main character in the show and they all wear vests and patterned trousers. The pinstripe suit pants from Theory was perfect. The texture of this vest and tie were right in line with this era. Even my suitsupply shirt had a subtle club collar to add in this attention to detail for this look. I recently got these side buttoned Dolce and Gabbana boots, which I thought tied the outfit together. What do you guys think?
