Style
Beach & Resort Style for the beautiful island of Mauritius was the way to go. I went with a vibrant short-sleeve gingham shirt and summer weather ready seersucker shorts. The pattern mix of gingham and seersucker stripes work well together subtly. This outfit is perfect for the beaming hot temperatures of Mauritius which our taxi driver explains it’s “hot vs hotter”. I finished off the casual look with accessories - nato strap timex chronograph weekender watch and the sharp J.Crew x Nike Killshot sneakers. The outfit really goes with the vibe of Mauritius - the beautiful beaches and hot climate!
Travel
Port Louis – Port Louis is the capital of Mauritius and most of it’s attractions are within walking distance. Just a short distance from the main square, check out the local food and grab your souvenirs. All the colors and activity in this local market makes it the perfect spot for photos and a snack. It’s an interesting experience to just stand still and watch the locals go about their daily lives. Check out the nearby Jummah Mosque and St. Louis Cathedral.
North West Coast (Trou aux Biches) – Mauritius is known for it’s stunning beaches and we spent the day at the beach Trou aux Biches, about a 30-minute taxi ride north of Port Louis. And my goodness is the beach simply beautiful! This is hands down the most breathtaking beach we have come across. It's no wonder why tourism is huge in Mauritius - especially honeymoons ;) .The water is just perfectly clear...I even posted a shot on Instagram with my feet! It was such a nice relaxing time to chill out on the beach and then making a stop at the hotel bar for a nice refreshment. There's also a ton of activities for you to do - boat ride, parasail, etc!
Also Go See:
Fort Adelaide (La Citadelle), Grand Baie, South West Mauritius – The Black River Gorges National Park, Casela Bird Park, Mahebourg, Domain Les Pailles
Eating Out:
Smoked Marlin, Rock Oysters, Camarons (fresh water prawns in a hot sauce), and vindaye (a spicy sauce). Tropical fruits: lychees, mangoes, passion fruit, guava, papayas, pineapple
