Valentine’s
Day is literally around the corner and I’ve got two great date night
inspiration looks for the special occasion. The challenge for each outfit was
to have at least one red item in a subtle way. The best way to execute this is
by accessories. Whether it’s coffee or cocktails, these two outfits should
cover most of what you would be doing on a date.
Look 1 is
the sharp & casual guy featuring a fitted leather jacket to go with a nice
popping red knit tie. This look is like straight out of the GQ playbook. Be
comfortable and casual in jeans yet sharp with a pair of classic dress shoes.
Easily swap out the jacket or shoes to make this outfit more casual with
sneakers or dressy with a blazer for your date. The ensemble shows that you’ve
got a sense of style to pull off dressy, modern, and comfort. This is a sharp
look for the coffee date, casual not super serious formal occasion, the hang
out all day in the city type of dates.
Look 2 is
the dapper and classic man featuring a three piece suit with an odd vest
combination. Think about this scenario: First of all, it’s Valentine’s day or a
date night with your serious relationship. This is not the time to shine and
dress better than your date. I dressed down the suit with a pair of suede
loafers and without a tie. I turned down the red blazer or a bold red gingham
shirt in my closet for a subtle red pocket square instead. Sometimes, less is
more. This dapper outfit is perfect for an upscale bar or romantic dinner
night.

The look with the leather jacket is my favorite. Perfect Sunday look for the day, then the last look with the suit is perfect for an evening dinner.
